Mavericks vs. Boston Beantown Braves

AIHL Potmoac Mavericks

AIHL Potmoac Mavericks

The American Inline Hockey League (AIHL) is the newest "professional" Inline Hockey League sweeping the Country.  In its second year of play, the league has over 38 organizations from Connecticut to California.  The Potomac Mavericks play in the 6 team Colonial Division of the Eastern Conference.  Having both an Elite and Minor team, the Mavericks look forward to an exciting, fun filled season at the Box.  Pre-season action proved that the Mavericks can compete by beating the defending League Champion Pittsburgh Bandits by a score of 7 to 3.

Some may ask, where do all these great players come from?  Several of the key Elite players have been playing for GM and Head Coach Billy Harrington since their U14 youth hockey days.  Kellen Henderson, Kevin Spain, Pat Giesecke, and Jonathan Vu have been playing together over 10 years.  Adding into the mix is a few imports in Kevin Donovan from Buffalo, Tyler Moyer from Ohio State University, Mike Nolan from New Jersey, and Kyle Shrauger/Mike Downer/Pat Lawton, all from North Carolina.  The Mavericks Elite also have Josh Sielschott and Harrison Murdock who all got started as youth hockey players in the Northern Virginia Area.

One of the Mavericks goals is to assist in the development of all players; professional, travel, and house levels.  We are very proud to say that many of our Elite level players come from within our own organization.  We have players that come from our U8/U12/U14 and High School House Leagues, our Youth Travel Leagues, and our very own Adult Leagues.  Coming up thru the PIHI youth leagues and now playing against the top players in the Country are: Andrew Lensing, Cameron Lensing, Mike Zyuzin, Nick Guilford, Alex Mercer, Jordan Pohl, Austin Woolf, SorenRucker, Tyler Berkey, Timmy Jocz, and Matt King-Brown.
